Make Up of the Lake Conference

The Lake Conference was originally formed
in 1932 with the charter members being:
Hopkins, Minnetonka, Mound, St. Louis
Park, University High and Wayzata. All
these schools have since departed. The
present configuration began in 1957 with
the entry of Bloomington. This district
later divided into Kennedy and Jefferson
who joined in 1965 and 1970. Burnsville
entered in 1976. Apple Valley, Rosemount
and Eden Prairie joined in 1986. Eagan
came in 1990; Lakeville in 1993; Chaska
in 1994 and Eastview in 1997. The
conference welcomed Lakeville South in
2005. The school previously known as
Lakeville, now has the name Lakeville
North. The Chaska school district adds a
new high school in the fall of 2010. Its
name is Chanhassen and it is the 12th
school in the Lake Conference.

The Lake Conference prides itself on
being one of the premier high school
conferences in the state of Minnesota.
Currently member schools field a full
complement of 27 interscholastic sports
and 17 Fine Arts activities. State
championships in many of these are too
numerous to mention in this
limited space.

The mission of the Lake Conference is to
promote and recognize excellence by
providing quality experiences for
students in programs of academics, arts,
athletics and activities.

The Lake Conference conducts its
activities under the auspices of and in
concert with the Minnesota State High
School League. www.mshsl.org

The policies and actions of the Lake
Conference are the responsibilities of
the following standing committees:
Athletic Directors and Activities
Directors who work under the direction of
the Executive Committee. #1
